Our children's dentists at Dr. Mady's practices offer different styles of dental crown to treat your child's cracked or broken baby teeth.
We recommend the placement of a crown over the baby tooth when baby teeth fracture due to decay or trauma and a filling is required on more than one surface of the tooth.
Children's dentistry at Madison and Alexis Dental offer children several styles of crown which are listed below. Our dentists will help you choose the crown option for your child.
Stainless steel crowns are silver colored caps that cover the whole tooth. Our children's dentists choose stainless steel crowns to restore back teeth with extensive decay or decay in between the teeth. They are the most durable, and last until the baby tooth falls out around the age of 12.
This is a stainless steel crown with a tooth colored coating on the front. This option is ideal for restoring baby teeth in the front where cosmetic appearance is important.
This type of crown is created using a clear shell that is filled with tooth colored filling material and fitted over the tooth. We recommend this option for front teeth that still have a significant portion of the natural tooth remaining.
This crown is a white plastic shell that is filled with tooth colored filling material and fitted over the tooth. Unlike a strip crown, this shell is left in place.
